Submission Guidelines

Please read the submission guidelines carefully before submitting.

All Submissions:

  • Must be sent via email to with “Submission” as the subject. In the body of the email please provide your name and the genre of your piece.
  • Any piece written for a class assignment must have a final grade prior to submission.
  • Send your submission as one Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx).

Short Stories:

  • Max. 4000 words.
  • Must be original, unpublished.


  • Max. 4000 words.
  • Must be original, unpublished.
  • No academic essays please!
  • MLA citation, where applicable.
  • Possible genres include:
    • Personal Essays
    • Literary Analyses
    • Speeches
    • Creative Non-Fiction
    • Memoirs, Biographies and Historical Essays
    • Articles (opinion, commentary, investigative, etc.)


  • Max. 5 poems per submission, the total page count not exceeding 5 pages.
  • Must be original, unpublished.
  • Combine all poems into one document and send as one attachment.
  • Use minimal font styles.
  • If you choose to insert images, they must be taken/created by you.
  • Can be any genre of poetry, traditional or modern.

After You Submit

  • You will get a confirmation email within 48 hours informing you that your submission has been received. If you don’t receive the email in 48 hours, it means we did not receive your submission.
  • You will get an email informing you whether your piece is accepted or not within five business days.
  • Accepted pieces may go through an extensive editing process. Writers are expected to be open to feedback and working with an editor on potential changes.
